Having enjoyed healthy revenue and profit growth this year,
turnpike operator and builder PT Citra Marga Nusaphala Persada (CMNP)
expects an even better performance next year.
In addition to a scheduled regular rise in road tolls set for June,
increases in traffic volumes would also play a part in boosting the
company's revenue, CMNP president director Daddy Hariadi said Monday.
"Our company is fundamentally in good condition, and we are very
optimistic about our future prospects," Daddy said during a
presentation Monday.
He said the company's revenue as of September stood at Rp 355.96
billion (US$39 million), and was predicted to reach Rp 472.276 billion
by the end of the year, an increase of 8 percent from the Rp 437.64
billion booked in 2005.
On profits, he said the company recorded a Rp 212.5 billion profit in
the first nine months of the year, already marking a 30 percent rise
from the Rp 147.5 billion in profit recorded in 2005.
In addition to the increases in road tolls and traffic volumes, the
company also expected lower operating expenses next year following the
planned restructuring of its human resources.
"We plan to reassign about a hundred of our employees to some of our
subsidiaries," Daddy said.
The company, Daddy added, would also focus on its ongoing projects,
such as the Surabaya Eastern Ring Road (SEER) scheme in East Java, and
the Depok-Antasari toll road in Greater Jakarta.
The company has invested more than Rp 1 trillion on the SERR, which is
being built by one of the firm's subsidiaries, PT Citra Margatama
Surabaya. The 12-kilometer-long turnpike will connect Waru and Tambak
Oso districts and is scheduled to be opened in May 2007.
As for the Depok-Antasari turnpike, Daddy said the 20-kilometer toll
road would cost about Rp 2.248 trillion.
CMNP is the leader of the consortium carrying out the project.
