Publicly listed PT Bank Internasional Indonesia (BII) has
joined an ATM network called ATM Bersama, operated by online payment
services firm PT Artajasa Pembayaran Elektronis, to help increase its
fee-based income by 20 percent this year.
"With our joining of ATM Bersama, our customers will be able to make
online transactions, including interbank transfers, through 11,200 ATMs
all over Indonesia," BII director for consumer banking Rudy N. Hamdani
said Tuesday,
BII itself operates 720 ATMs nationwide.
The cooperative venture will also enable the customers of the other 67
members of the ATM network, about 30 million customers in all, to
perform transactions at BII ATMs at a charge of Rp 5,000 per
transaction.
Rudi said that about four million transactions per month were conducted
on average through the bank's ATMs.
Besides joining ATM Bersama, BII is also a member of the networks
operated by ALTO, Cirrus and DBS Bank of Singapore.
With total assets of Rp 53 trillion at present, BII has outstanding
third-party liabilities of Rp 37 trillion and loans of Rp 9 trillion.
It expects to grow its loan book by 30 percent this year, at lending
rates of between 12 and 14 percent.
Since February, BII has also been offering fixed-rate housing loans for
periods of five years at annual rates of 12.5 percent, and is expecting
to lend some Rp 300 billion per month.
